Is Nutella Keto?
You probably already guessed it, but nope…regular Nutella is definitely not a go on keto. Two tablespoons of Nutella hazelnut spread contains 20 grams of sugar…yikes!
But the good news is that in working with Lakanto brand, we got to try out their Suntella sugar free chocolate spread and it’s actually really good stuff! We used it in this recipe as a keto-friendly swap for Nutella and it is perfect!
How to Make Keto Nutella Milkshakes
First, use the back of a spoon to spread some of the Lakanto Suntella on the inside of your glass. This makes your milkshake have the cool swirl look that you’ll see in the photos!
Next, add all of the four main ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth.
Pour into your prepared glass and enjoy!
We also like to top our milkshakes with a sprinkle of cocoa or sugar free chocolate shavings. You could even use sugar-free whipped cream!
How Many Servings Does This Recipe Make?
This recipe as written makes one generous keto milkshake. You can always double, triple, etc. to make a bigger batch and feed a crowd (or save some for later!)
Can You Make This Recipe Dairy Free?
Aside from the cream cheese, everything in this keto milkshake recipe is nondairy. If you’d like to swap the cream cheese for a dairy-free alternative, try almond cream cheese or a similar plant-based product. There are several brands that make a low carb cream cheese substitute with great reviews.
I’ve linked to one such product here on Amazon so you can get an idea of what would work in place of cream cheese. Keep in mind that Amazon doesn’t always have the lowest prices on food products — but you can at least get an idea of what to use and then check for it at the grocery store.
