Baked Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings – Low Carb!
Chicken wings are my husband’s favorite food, and the good news is that they CAN be included in a keto lifestyle!
Not only are chicken wings high in protein, because they’re cooked skin-on, they also provide lots of the fat that fuels keto weight loss!
And they’re delicious of course!
These keto lemon pepper wings are easy to make with only a handful of simple ingredients. Despite using only a few ingredients and spices, these baked lemon pepper chicken wings are wildly flavorful! Even your non-keto friends and family will love them! They’re that good!
But what really makes these wings a treat is the crispy skin. There’s nothing worse than soggy skin on chicken wings, am I right?
Well no worries here! That skin is crispy, crunchy, and melts in your mouth! Just look at it!

What Does Lemon Pepper Taste Like?
Just like it sounds, lemon pepper seasoning is a combination of zesty lemon peel and spicy ground black pepper.
Other spices are often incorporated for more depth of flavor, so that no two lemon pepper recipes are exactly alike. My husband swears by onion powder and garlic powder — they are his go-to spices — so of course we included them in our lemon pepper seasoning blend.
The result is a crazy delicious, crispy wing that packs a flavorful punch in every single bite! But does NOT pack the carbs!
How Many Carbs in Lemon Pepper Wings?
Chicken wings themselves are naturally low in carbs, however, sauces and seasonings can be a hidden source of sugar and carbs.
If you love chicken wings, lemon pepper seasoning is a great option when you’re on the keto diet because it is adds almost no carbs.
We marinated our wings in lemon juice, which does contain a small amount of carbs and fruit sugar. However, only a small bit of that is absorbed, and the rest of the juice is poured off before cooking.
This leaves us with a flavorful, yet keto-friendly wing recipe that is less than 1g net carbs per serving!
Do I Need to Marinate the Chicken?
Marinating chicken imparts extra flavor and helps tenderize the meat because the marinade will start slowly breaking down the chicken.
Our marinated version of this recipe is especially flavorful, but you can still make these wings even if you don’t have a day to marinate.
To save time, simply skip the marinating process, add salt to your seasoning mix, then bake.
